Japan-Turkey Dialogue in Times of Global Transitions Symposium

Secretary General Eser Özdil made a presentation on how energy security should be discussed from a regional perspective at the Japan-Turkey Dialogue in Times of Global Transitions Symposium held at TEPAV.

The Japan-Turkey Dialogue in Times of Global Transitions Symposium was held on 20 November 2019 at TEPAV in Ankara. PETFORM Secretary General Eser Özdil started his speech by stating that the International Energy Agency (IEA) defines energy security as providing energy at a sustainable and affordable price. Mr. Özdil said that Turkey has made significant investments in natural gas infrastructure in recent years and this situation will provide significant benefits to the energy security of the region. Mr. Özdil stated that Eastern Mediterranean gas has come to the forefront recently, but feasibility studies and high-cost projects have shown that regional gas may not be able to gain a global dimension.
