PETFORM 2015 General Assembly

PETFORM (Petroleum Platform Association), one of the largest non-governmental organizations of natural gas and exploration and production sector, held its 16th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting on Thursday, February 11, 2016 in Ankara. Aytac Eren, who is also the President in 2015, decided to continue his duty in the new period. In the General Assembly, which was attended by the participation of 55 energy companies of PETFORM member, activities and budget for the year 2015, during which intense work was done, were dismissed with a vote of unity and the proposal of amending the Regulation was discussed.

In his opening speech Mr. Eren has been evaluating important issues related to Exploration and Production sector and Natural Gas Market in 2015.



Having been in the evaluations of the TRGas-Hub Project,which has been successfully selected by the European Union Commission for the best project of 2013, Mr. Eren said with the intensive studies carried out under the coordination of PETFORM with the project partners, Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, European Energy Traders Federation (EFET) the project will be completed in February. Eren stated that PETFORM has taken a very important step as the only Turkish NGO in the framework of the Union for Mediterranean (UfM) and underlined that the work under the organization will be meticulously pursued.

As a result of the democratic elections held in the General Assembly, where the association-affiliated companies showed great interest, a team was set up to undertake the management of the association during the year 2016. Aytaç Eren from Güney Yıldızı Petrol, who has been the chairman of the Board of Directors for the past year, was elected as the Chairman of the Board of Directors this year and Aziz Camci from EgeGaz was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors. It is decided that Ali Yıldızel will assume the presidency of the Exploration and Production Group, which is formed with the participation of association member companies operating in the field of petroleum and natural gas exploration and production, while the chairman of the Gas Group Mr. Rıdvan Uçar also assumed his position in Gas Group, formed with the participation of association member companies operating in the natural gas market.
