Secretary General Mr. Eser Özdil made a presentation on Liberalization and Supply Security in EU Natural Gas Markets at TOBB Turkey Natural Gas Council was held on December 25.

Mr. Özdil stated that European Union's energy policies are built on a well-functioning domestic market, security of supply and interconnection of energy lines and in this way, competitive markets have been established where gas competes with gas. Mr. Özdil said that prices have shifted to hub indexed price formation and contract structures have become short-term in Europe. Mr. Özdil said that when legal, commercial and technical barriers to the bilateral flow of natural gas physically with European countries are removed, Turkey is integrated with the existing and emerging trade center eight said could capture the price correlations.
